Congrats! How long were you on the list at the AD?

You're gonna need more than one date just with diamonds to be on "that list".

Yes, but a real one. Not a modern copy.

I just got the Pepsi after chnr. Both gmts but not similar inmho. Daytona is a great watch too but lacks the date which is actually something I look for on my wrist.

Why not go for the one you truly desire, I would wait for Daytona though.

Maybe 6 months. Told my small town ad that I wanted a gmt. He texted me late last week and was expecting some new stock to come in, Maybe an explorer 2 and some datejusts. He called yesterday and said “sorry I didn’t get the explorer 2 would you like a Pepsi instead??” I said yea I’ll take off work early and be there in two hours! He got two Pepsi’s in a few subs, and some new op 41’s. A total of 10 watches, they were all sold before they hit the case. Told me he has a hard time getting Stock, I usually called and checked in every 3 weeks. My local ad is a great guy and told me he’d try to have my Daytona in early 21. Sorry for the long reply.

That's super cool! I've been getting the feeling that supply of SS models is starting to increase.

OP, everyone else has already said it, but get the one you love the most. I wanted a Batman for years, but I thought I would never be able to get on the list as a serious/big spender buyer. Now that I have the Batman on jubilee, I'm over the moon because I got what I really wanted and didn't settle.

That said, a gold Daytona is a nice consolation prize.

Oh, my brother! That’s the one!

And OP,
If you love GMTs get it! If you want diversity, get a diver or the Daytona. I have owned the 126710BLRO and went back to the 16710, for now. I own the 116519LN and love that Daytona.

Tough choice between that and the 6 digit BLRO. Between those 2, (Daytona oysterflex and 126710) I’d get the 126710BLRO.

I'm waiting for my AD to get me a BLRO to go with my CHNR. I think they will compliment each other nicely.

In my experience, TT versions of SS models do not feel or wear the same. Two different watches with a common name.

Get the Pepsi. It will work with your other watches.

They look very different even though they are essentially the same watch.

The function is redundant, if that matters to you. Personally I’d want only 1 GMT in your situation and buy a diver to get a different application.

That said, it’s not like owning a Pepsi is going to be a mistake. It’s beautiful and if you later decide that you don’t want 2 GMTs, you can sell either one very easily and at a profit if you bought atMSRP. Hard to go wrong no matter what you decide. Wear them in good health.

This is my primary thought on it. I had an Oyster BLNR when my BLRO arrived in December ‘18. Within three weeks I sold the BLNR. I already knew which one I preferred and don’t keep watches I don’t wear.
