Help with vintage Rolex date just bracelet

Great to meet you all.
First time posting here.
I've recently inherited a vintage Rolex date just from a family member (a local Rolex AD believes it's from the early '60s) and I need to get the bracelet adjusted to fit my wrist.

However, the AD wasn't helpful stating that they can't work on such an old model given they only hold parts for models that are 50 years-old or newer (he also wasn't willing to help think of who we can turn to). It was a frustrating visit to the AD to say the least.

Could someone please recommend where I could go to get the bracelet adjusted for this older model?

Thanks so much.

Unlikely that an AD even knows what to do, unless they have an older watchmaker on staff.

Rivet bracelets generally have folded links that need to be slightly unfolded to slide them off of the cross-bars, then refolded back together.

Give Bob Ridley at Watchmakers International a call. He is up by Dallas, but may know some old hands near you that can do the job.

Nice watch, but not a DateJust. :-)

If you just need a small adjustment, you may be able to do it yourself by adjusting the position of the springbar in the clasp.

If you need a link removed, you should try to find someone local who has experience with this type of bracelet. As Larry noted, it has to be done carefully to avoid making a kink in the neighboring link. If you need an extra link added, or if you want to have the bracelet fully restored, rolliworks.com in Florida can probably do it.
