$80K vs $200K…. I’ve always found that the aqua is perhaps even more versatile than the nautilus and is an even cooler wear.
for sure on your last comment. The Nautilus is special, but it's too formal to wear at the beach, too mature, and is more dress watch than sports watch. The Aquanaut is the watch you wear everyday.

I feel the same. I absolutely love the 5711 and the nautilus generally. It was the first patek I ever bought in 2015.

I have to admit that I liked the 5167 just as much as I do today even back then. I was torn between the two, and probably the only reason I went for the 5711 was because the 5167 at the time had a pretty poor reputation on this forum. I foolishly let the snobby comments on the 5167 get to me.

Today if both watches were worth the same, even though I find the nautilus to be a more beautiful watch on its own, if I could only keep one I would probably keep the aquanaut.

How hard to get these days?
How much Aquanauts get a AD per year roughly?

These days Aquanauts are nearly impossible to get for a first time buyer from an AD I presume.

Most ADs are not getting more than 2 of each reference per year, a third one if they´re lucky.

Lot of dealer or someone who owns it list it on sale but dont really care whether its going to be sold.

Lucky I don’t need to buy…..rather sell….

Just need to find a sucker that thinks this is a 100k watch!

You sold a 13yr old watch for $78k. I think you made out like a bandit. It's just a watch, and beyond the reference being hot isn't otherwise "special" in any way (e.g. Tiffany stamped). Keep the 5167r, you're good.

that would be really rare, especially vs. Rolex.
Is it easier to get Aquanaut rose 5164R or 5167R in comparison to steel 5164a or 5167a ?

Yes, it´s easier. But still no chance at retail for a first time buyer without existing AD relationship.
