New AP House opening in NYC?

Is anyone in NYC (or visiting) able to confirm whether the joint venture AP House with Material Goods is opening today? I was only able to find something online about it being planned for today, but there have been so many delays before.
If it’s true, then I look forward to any initial reviews.
Thanks all.

I was at the opening party on Thursday. The space is truly stunning, can’t wait to see what else they utilize the space for. Nice giveaways too!

I was supposed to go yesterday to the house and capsule but got sucked into golf and the F1. I’ll stop by sometime

We got the same ones on Thursday :)

Actually pretty cool with the 50th anniversary logo engraved on the back.

I am actually curious whether they had anything to sell to any of the initial crowd of customers…but I’m afraid to ask lest it be a let down that they had nothing to offer.

Booked an appointment on Sunday. I really hope they have stuff to see and try on. I am also curious about having a relationship with both the boutique and the house. Anyone here work with both and get watches from both places?

Was just there - very cool AP House unfortunately nothing to try on - only one code and two 43mm ROO - worth a visit though - some cool museum pieces

I have an appointment booked for tomorrow. Pics look cool but honestly very disappointed to hear that there is nothing to try on in terms of Royal Oaks. I just don't get the point of doing this and not having a single model of your flagship model during the its 50th anniversary to try on. I have seen many people posting display pieces on this forum and instagram from different boutiques all over the world. It feels that my local boutique (Boston) and the closest AP house (NYC) are the only places that don't have not had any 50th anniversary display pieces. / end rant

I have to laugh with this "opening". So you can visit and there's one ROO and a 11.59 to "try on"?!?

I wasn't expecting fully stocked drawers ready to sell to new customers, but come on, what's the point? Another House with nothing to try on, nothing to sell and nothing to see? I may as well go over to Restoration Hardware next door and sit on the same colored couches - at least that way they have a bar on the roof...

The Boston boutique told me that they received the little "For display only" signs - some actual watches can't be far behind

I have written AP entirely off already (in terms of expecting any watches/ relationship) but still like the watches and happened to be in NYC so was curious… they said they had the 50th anniversary pieces last week but they rotate and from boutique to boutique.

I personally kind of felt for the staff that all were brand new and the few I talked to didn’t work with watches before and now had to constantly apologize for not having anything to sell. I appreciated the free drinks and the museum pieces …

I didn’t expect much and was pleasantly surprised by the design of the place but personally felt like the staff was maybe too trendy and “cool” but I think that was on purpose- I also don’t like the ads they have on IG with mark ronson - just not my thing.

Interesting! That would be great! Hopefully it’s not 1 ROO and 1 Code for display lol

Had the pleasure of visiting a few weeks back and had a great time. Hit it off with the staff.

Can anyone with familiarity to the Houses speak to how often it’s appropriate to drop by and hang out? The SA I was talking to was very nice and said I could drop by anytime but that may have been a pleasantry… I’m not sure how AP views their Houses

You can swing by as many times as you want, it isn’t going to bother people. What you’ll do each time, well, I have no idea. It’s a great space but are you just trying to build a relationship? That seems a bit silly (and a waste of time).

My relationship is with the boutique and not the House. I had a great conversation with the SA however and just really enjoyed lounging in the space. I was more asking from the perspective of what is appropriate and not over bearing

I don’t live in London and thus when we visit we make a point of stopping at AP to say hi and have a coffee, but always I’ve arranged to do so in advance, I’ve never just dropped in even though they always tell us we are welcome to do so. Just remember that they are crazy busy at the moment, so don’t be a pest, but equally if you are in the area and fancy a coffee I’m sure they’d love to welcome you.
I’m sure things are different in different locations but the pics of NYC AP House look cool and I can imagine the terrace would be a cool place to keep frequenting.

If i like the atmosphere and experience with AP House and buying and taking delivery at AP House instead of the boutique does that mean i would have to give up my relationship with my SA at the boutique?

Curious if there's been any more visitors from this forum to the NY AP House?
Thinking of dropping by just for 30min to check out the space, is there anything to actually look / try on nowadays?

A forum member recently mentioned that they still had the codes, ROO and I think 1 or 2 ROs. Book an appointment. It's a cool space if you are an AP fan.
