Yea there is slightly. And I’m ok with it, the YM oysterflex is this way too.

I’m sure Rubber B and Everest are great, I was going to get Everest too.
But this idea came up and I really like it so I did it. I think its worth the time sourcing as it didn’t take me too long to find. I’m really ok with the little gaps because it is not that visible while wearing also it is the same way they do on YM oysterflex

That looks terrific!!! And congrats on a successful strap change too. I think it's fun when done with the proper tools and techniques (all learned on TRF of course ).

I switch out my Subc with an Everest band and love the look and feel of it. It then feels good to go BACK to the bracelet where my mind then says......"this is where the watch truly belongs".......but so fun to mix it up .

Just wondered how you managed to source the Oysterflex, I always thought Rolex didn’t supply parts for watches they were never originally supplied with?

Did it fit straight on or did you have any issues getting it to fit?

How did the price compare to say an Everest or Rubber B band which, no disrespect, visually would look pretty similar?

Thanks

Thank you,

Yes I will answer your questions here.
So you can find some seller selling Original OF on this forum’s classified page. And yes. Rolex normally will not sell to you if you don’t have the watch to go with it( YM or Daytona). So you might need to ask around your AD or ask a friend who has those watches to purchase for you.

Yes. It fit perfectly to exact on the lug 20mm. I have no issue get it on. It was my first time to adjust bracelet myself. And it was not bad at all. Went smoothly.

They cost double than Rubber B and Everest. Many people prefer Rubber B and Everest as they are very nice products and don’t have a “gap” in between the lugs. I personally prefer Rolex Original parts so I went with the Oysterflex and think it’s worth it. The price is acceptable for a $8000+ watch to me. Also the look is just like how they done on the Yacht-Master

Hope this helps

I had no idea this was the case with the Yachtmaster too. Never looked at photos close enough to notice. Now I wonder why Rolex provided endlinks with Daytonas on Oysterflex and not on the Yachtmaster?

Yea, I think they probably tested and think Daytona looks better with the endlink.

If it comes ex factory, I do think thinner lugs would look even better !

Those lugs just do not compliment any strap at all. Oysterflex is the exception, but with the end links. Curious why you didn't use them? Still, I've tried tons of straps and oyster bracelet is only good option IMO. 5 dig is a different story. Looks great on everything.

Having looked at your photos again, my only issue would be the gaps up against the case.

That would bug the hell out of me, sorry OP.

An Everest or Rubber B would fit perfect as they are made specifically for that watch.

I appreciate your comment that you went with the OF because it’s an original Rolex part, but it’s not original to the Sub is it?

I appreciate what you’ve done & if your happy that’s all that matters but for me there are better options to achieve the same look.

I don’t prefer aftermarket parts, that’s why. And this is just a fun way to wear my Sub. I will still mainly put it on the oyster.
