It's impressive, but the hole-in-the-dial look of the RO (and other) tourbillons is not my favorite. Best RO tourbillon is the one below, IMO, even if one can't actually read the time.

I thought the RD3 is currently not for sale, only a showcase of AP's prowess in development?

If all of the above isn't impressive enough, AP is releasing a 37mm version of this watch in September, getting even further afield from the 41mm case to which a movement like this used to be relegated.

I read that as well, but it seems that the current movement would a bit tight fit into the 37mm case, with the tourbillon squished right up to the outermost edge of the dial.

I've been wanting and dreaming for a tourbillon Jumbo for many years now. Don't even want to think about what this will be on the market. 500K? Lol.

Agreed. I am really hoping to get allocation of one of these. It seems highly challenging.

Do you know when they will present it in metal? I got message that it is still just a render and there is not one assembled yet but that was two months ago...

Whilst I haven’t seen a prototype yet I suspect that photo doesn’t do it justice at all and it will look spectacular once better photos start to emerge.

I actually got to see the RD3 yesterday...it's amazing. The fact that they were able to engineer a flying tourbillon into such a thin and robust movement is a heck of a step in a direction that will make future models even more mind blowing.

Really impressed!

Tried the 41mm version yesterday again. Amazing watch already, can’t imagine what the RD3 will look like.

Is it a no brainier to go for RD3 over the 26730? Price seemed close enough

$130k vs $170k right?

If you can get the 39mm and afford it in a way that lets you wear it regularly…yes, no brainer

Where I am quotation is about 12k diff so close enough. The dial if 41mm model seemed more interesting but the 39mm is the classic petit pattern. Perhaps 39mm more understated.
