AP relationship question
With the evolving customer landscape over the recent years in which it’s generally been harder for VIPs (how ever that is defined) to obtain certain models compared to VVIPs, what incentive is there really for AP to have to maintain certain relationships when there is a whole new generation of wealthy customers who are able to fill the place of any group of previous buyers?
Granted, I guess it makes sense for them to weed out flippers, or launderers perhaps, but my general understanding from forum discussions is that buying power equals priority customer. And it may be that this new gen customer is indeed the new VVIP along with public ambassador-level individuals, but I still wonder how this concept of ‘relationship’ is defined with such a darling brand as AP. Ultimately, I’ll admit that it is still nice to see when forum members here get ‘the call’ and share their next-level acquisitions, especially when granted to them based on a longstanding relationship with AP. HAGWE all! |

If only we knew...
All I can discern is that there are no rules and everyone's experience is unique and personal. But, one thing is for sure, it's not fair, will never be fair, can never be fair and the watch world has become far less fun to participate in as a community and it has been fun less fun to wear an 'anonymous' AP as now everyone knows the brand. |

I guess it’s because of these sentiments that I was lamenting on how things used to be. *sigh* Thank you for your comments. |

They have a very specific strategy in determining who or what a “VIP” is. An immense amount of internal structure and execution is in place for this very thing.

Seriously, how interesting it would be to be a fly on the wall during their strategy meetings :) |
