I choose GMT in the poll but having read the posts I think a Sub LV with the glidelock/green bezel (for added interest) and the very useful timing function of the unidirectional bezel of a diver actually gives it the win.

I also think the clasp on the divers feels (and is) much more robust than on the other watches my Skydweller clasp is no where near as nice as the one on the SD43 as an example and it really stood out when I got it.

It's close, but I'd have to go with the GMT. Both are awesome watches.

Why I chose the Sub

I voted for the Sub, but That is because I do not have one. I have these two Rolex watches and no Sub at this time. I think if I had neither of these I might choose the GMT Pepsi. I have been thinking of getting the new Destro GMT or a Sub with black dial and green bezel.

Would love to get me a BLRO but I’m quite happy with the sub especially for daily duties and will likely be worn more if I had the GMT as well

The GMT has many more options. Like the Sub, but have to go with the GMT.

I have 3 Subs and 4 GMTs..and the GMT's have always been more interesting to me although obviously I like them both.

I'll add as others have that the clasp on the Submariner is just a bit too long..especially when using a laptop.

I’d go with a gmt….but I also have two. Hated my BLNR on the polished oyster so FINALLY popped it on the blue Everest strap I’ve had in my drawer for 5yrs and it was a game changer. Soooooo much better for that watch.

I love how the current GMT sits on my wrist and I already own a Sub, so it's GMT for me.

Sub for me too, much more practical for a daily use than the GMT...

Sub is always my choice. The modern GMT’s bezel font just doesn’t do it for me.

Rolex in general is ubiquitous, just about all the models.

In this showdown I would opt for the sub. The GMT colors are pastels are not perfected-though the BLNR looks the best out of the GMT's. I would choose a 5 digit GMT over a sub or any 6 digit reference for that matter as the are more versatile. However the bezel colors do appear a bit costume like for my taste and I thunk I like them better in the case than on the wrist.

I own both and have no pressing desire to add anything else. My vote was a mental coin toss.

Own both Hulk and Pepsi. Hulk or a Sub is the BEST daily watch ever invented in history of watches.

Both are the best in so many ways and it’s hard as he11 to answer like choosing between 2 children.

I will say Rolex has done a tremendous job on the gmt design, Pepsi Batman, in recent years but then there is Kermit & Hulk!!

Very hard to choose between them - hence I have only a 2 piece collection of Rolex - GMT Pepsi on Jubilee and New Green Sub Oyster - best of both.

Isn't it the opposite now? Pepsi is in higher demand, everyone wants one, it's taken the Sub's place as the generic Rolex to get

I own both and love both.

But if I had to choose it'd be the BLNR on the Oyster by a hairs breadth for me. It's just a slightly more interesting piece in terms of complication and the splash of colour (proper blue) on the bezel.

Submariner vs GMT

Lets not avoid the elephant in the room - essentially they are the same watch

Exactly same case & bracelets whether you choose Oyster or Jubilee

Both got exactly the same dial - only the text is different.

However I like them both

Submariner was my first Rolex so will always be a special watch to me.

Having said that I currently have only the one Sub but 3 GMT’s so I guess I’m a walking contradiction….

Funny old hobby this isn’t it
