there is no denying that the prices went down, and some good buying opportunities are popping up here and there

but how can we have a market "crash" if i cannot even conveniently buy a ceramic daytona panda with box and papers for USD 30k. If i see those pop up in the 25-30k range i will happily buy (and i am sure i will not be the only one)

Youtubers are attention seekers who think their opinion matters, all rubbish

Govberg/Watchbox is definitely very silent on the market update . They instead put out new crown video suggesting solution to limited supply is to get rid of all the mom and pop chains and only have large corporate chain ad’s. Lol. Sorta self serving.

Here is a great example of talking up the market from 6 months ago.

Adrian Barker (Bark and Jack) i rate as a very good YT'er who makes excellent quality videos, but has zero expertise in the financial markets, went on a massive market hype rant, as "the market can't crash its only ever going to go up because that's what history tells us".

I like watchbox, they are good to deal with and the staff are very knowledgable, but its a business at the end of the day, a large and successful one at that.

Theyre not going to cut off their funding stream by telling people bad news.

Youtube suggested this video to me yesterday where the dealer tells us not to dump out watches because it's hurting the market.

The Rolex Youtubers recent messaging will have a similar effect on the market to the price discussions here on this forum, i.e. very useful and interesting, yet negligible in the grand scheme of things.

Hype can help a rising market gain even more momentum, but you can't talk your way out of a falling one - it just looks like what it is, denialism.

Stop listening to others for answers and start listening to yourself. You are your best advisor as you have your best interest in mind. If your not sure what to do then do nothing until you have gained enough personal knowledge to not second guess yourself. Watch collecting is suppose to be fun and enjoyable.

So far the prices have fallen back down to... a whopping beginning of 2022 prices.

People have been talking about a rolex bubble since at least 2018.

If the pricing from peak 2 months ago fell 40%, it would still be higher than 2018.

Does everything look like a steal to you? LOL.

So far only the people calling it a bubble from Feb to March would be right.

Crash baby crash. Waiting to see my DD in the windows. Will walk in with 30k in hundreds and wave it in front of their noses. If they don't take it walk in next day to another one with 31k. **** them. They did me no favors.

Watchbox has a podcast too (The Trading Desk) which was good for a new episode every week or two. The last episode was "Are Watch Prices Finally Going Down?" and then it's been radio silence for nearing on three weeks now LOL. IMO, sales have probably fallen off a cliff worse than we know. All the retailers reporting earnings and what I saw at my own company was April sales absolutely nose dived, May is better, but we are seeing a fundamental and dramatic shift in spending. The war, China reopening, nothing is going to change the direction of things until inflation slows and the market changes.

It will do the watch community some good if the bubble burst. A return to MSRP would benefit everyone except for grays and flippers.

yeah there is a fundamental shift in spending but it's away from things like new grills and remodels and watches. Lets face it, sitting at home for two years with nowhere to go, not buying gas and so on people probably bought all the crap they needed to last the rest of their life. At one point oil was a 0$ a barrel! Heck I saw this platinum DD I could have had for 22K or less. Almost bought it.

But airline prices? Up at least 20%. Hotels and condos and other stuff the same. I just think that people want to get out and do things rather than acquire more stuff.

Their silence is deafening but... surely they're just there for entertainment purposes?

Why all the hate?

If you don't like what they say, don't watch or subscribe. Just like the secondary market... if you think the dealers are the spawn of the Devil... don't buy or sell to them. Simples.

As for them influencing market tendencies, I really do think that some people need to get out more. Or is this an exclusive Club, that only those who have bought pastries for an AD can join?

Rolex existed before and will forever more, regardless of whether "old talking hands" (Watchfinder) says otherwise.

There’s a white NIB full stickers full kit on moda for 37 now with no takers. That’s 15k or 30% off what dealers asked 3 months ago
