I bought my 1675 GMT new as a 21st birthday present in September 1967. I have now had almost 55 years of daily service from it and it has accompanied me throughout my adult life. It still keeps time to +/- 2sec per day.

All were bought new from an AD with 20% discount.

First Rolex: TT DJ (bought new 1974 - sold 1979 to buy the President's)

Second Rolex: Y/G DD President's Model (bought new 1979 - sold 1982 to help pay for last year of law school)

Two-year gap wearing a Seiko Quartz (1982-84)

Third Rolex: SS DJ (bought new 1984 after passing California Bar Exam - sold 1987 to buy the TT DJ 16013)

Fourth Rolex: TT DJ 16013 (bought new 1987 - present)

So, 1974 to 2022 is 48 years less two years (the Seiko years) is 46 total Rolex years.

The 16013 back from the RSC earlier this month . . . and still my favorite of the bunch.

Sold my TT sub around its 20 year anniversary. Bought 1991. purchased new.

Owned my sub 14060 and explorer II polar since around 2014 both of these purchased preowned.

The part. Find most interesting is I purchased a zenith Daytona 2 years ago. This is the watch I meant to purchase in 1991… much like today, it was unavailable.

I own one Rolex, referenced to the left under my name. Hubs and I picked it up from the AD exactly one year ago today.

The one I've got the longest is only a few years old. Not much for continuity in my watch ownership.

How many years have you owned your Rolex?

114060 in 2013 to commemorate a career milestone.

It was a spontaneous walk in purchase. I had always wanted a Submariner. I was the only one in the AD and just happen to stroll past an AD whilst travelling interstate. Conversed with the lady and after a while, she went to the back and brought out a newly arrived SubC. I love the symmetry and it’s ‘set and go’. There are so many well loved dents/scratches I wear it everywhere.

It’s been present at many other milestones and travels.

Took me till 2020 to add something with a cyclops. A 126234 (blue dial). I’m 80/20 sure I stand by the choice to go 36mm.

Bought both a Daytona and dj36 in 2006 as my entrée into watch collecting new at the local ad. Just walked up to the counter and picked them out. Oh how things have changed.

Edit: still have both pieces and don’t think I will ever sell.
