Again...I like GS. I own 4 of them.

But these videos are just embarrassing shill pieces. That Christian dude HATED Seiko, but now he loves them...well it’s interesting how his “working with GS generating promotional marketing content” has changed his mind so greatly about the brand.

I agree with the video ... all they have to do is get Rolex to license them their name

It is like saying One Plus will dethrone Apple. GS makes great watches but dethroning Rolex is highly unlikely.

Funny and slightly ironic that the salesman is wearing a Rolex.

Still, I agree with most of the points in the video, even though it’s exaggerated. We get it. Grand Seikos are beautiful and interesting. They hold their own against any brand. But they’re not better nor worse. Like most things, comes down to personal preference.

Can’t say I agree here... yes, Rolex is pushing buyers and current owners like myself away with availability, but GS has their shortfalls with the buying community too that I have heard. For instance, for me, reminders of Hublot with all the new watches they release being a limited edition ;)

Real world stats just don't back this claim up. If anything, SMART watches are eating everyone's lunch in the watch world right now. Other than that, Rolex is firmly in the driver's seat for automatic and luxury watch brands. Last year Rolex/Tudor passed the Swatch Group as the largest Swiss watch maker and GS doesn't even come close to the levels of the Swiss makers. Great watches, beautiful craftsmanship, but just not in the same league as Rolex and the top tier Swiss companies...

The position of Rolex in the market and, above all, the perception among ordinary people has been unattainable for many years, but Grand Seiko will have replaced Omega as the number one pursuer in a few years.

Objectively speaking, you can already get more technology and outstanding craftsmanship for the same price at Grand Seiko than at Rolex, but Rolex's branding is fantastic and it demands a lot of resources to fill the gap.

But Grand Seiko is on the right track. They have already completely convinced me. All but one of my Rolex watches will be sold and replaced by other GS.

As much as I like Seiko, I doubt GS will dethrone Rolex but Rolex created a vacuum for Grand Seiko to grow and that's happening. Competition is good for consumers.

The general public doesn’t buy high end watches based on which one they think is better; rather which one is more desirable, and among the general public no watch is more desirable than a Rolex.
