Thanks OP for sharing this, and it really is unfortunate you had to deal with this.

It’s a shame that these players give the watch industry (consumers and sellers) such a bad taste.

It’s hard not to draw a reaction conclusion from the 1st original post, however reading the rest of the posts, the feedback on this chat and the curt emails chains paint the story pretty clear.

This is actually a good educational posts, to remind not only new collectors / hobbyists and weekend collectors alike of the risks and to ask the questions upfront.

Especially when it’s 12k SD or the other post of a 50k AP.

Trust is so key with trusted people. Watch hobby is like dealing with a trusted business, gut feel is so important.

Gratz on your SD43. Atleast we both learned from our lessons to pay little extra as long as the dealer is a professional in terms of customer service. I've went through 3 ghost listers in chrono24 not including Jaztime to get my AP Offshore which cost around 25k oh man the way they deal with you its like they don't want your money they are extremely sluggishly unresponsive and replies with only 3 to 5 words max like its a f'kn Citizen watch lol. But oh man this Jaztime is the WORST of them all.
Can't wait till my watch arrives so excited!!!!!

This is 100 percent correct. You would think a place that has a YouTube Chanel and a brick and mortar store would be someone you could trust and buy watches from. But that is not the case. Places like jaztime take the fun out of this hobby. All levels of buyers should be aware of places like them that don’t even have a lot of the watches they are trying to sell. On top of it their no customer service policy. Everyone needs to run away as fast as they can. I hope any potential buyers can see this post first before dealing with them. AD or TS is the only way to go these days.

I was just looking at a new SMP they have advertised then I remembered this thread. I'll spend my money elsewhere now.

I have to admit I am gobsmacked ... I just can’t fathom this sort of response ... what were they thinking

In this day and age of social media, how do they not figure a written response like this won’t get re-posted on line somewhere like here and all hell breaks loose?

I wonder if the writer is an employee or the owner ... not that it matters, but it would be interesting to know.

OP, glad you found what you were looking for elsewhere, congratulations

Personally-i would flip this to the writers that do watch articles for NY times or business insiders. I would spend hours of my time to let everyone know how bad this place is, in an attempt to destroy their business. you should write a yelp review with that response, and continue writing a review every month.

These guys have been around quite a while in Newport. They deal with higher end clients, celebs, and so forth and they sell a high volume of watches. They were always cordial when I went into the shop. They used to be around the corner from Paul and Nick at Watch Expo. I'm actually shocked they would message someone like this. They never seemed to be the type to be this ignorant. Apparently they are doing so well they don't need your money or any one else's for that matter OP. This is just plain stupid on their part.

Thanks. I posted this to share with everyone so they would know who they are dealing with. I personally will never spend a dime with them. I don’t think others should either. They obviously don’t care about making buying a watch a personal experience. They showed themselves. I’m sharing it. BTW I bought my watch from a TS on this forum. Takuya. A plus experience.

Buy from ADs or TS only. I would do exactly what you say but they don’t care and they would probably love the publicity anyways. I have left reviews on Yelp. I contacted the BBB. They are not members. No surprise.

It only takes on thread for all of our members to pass over them on the next purchase. I’m not sure the members here really consider jazztime as a real place to buy, but hopefully this prevents a few sales.

How do they even sell watches is beyond me? Who buys from them? They have a problem answering simple questions. The guy called me illiterate because all of the answers I needed were in his pictures. He had posted one picture of the watch I was looking to purchase. This is ridiculous.

I'm not sure how this company stays in business. This is supposed to be a pleasurable experience. The responses from the owner/manager on Yelp were truly unbelievable.

I myself find this dealer to be really shady. 1.(As someone mentioned) Their website mentions they don’t have a storefront anymore because they were robbed. I found that to be a very strange thing to share. 2. I inquired about a Brand new Rolex TT SkyD they had listed on eBay for I believe around 17,500. I asked a question not pertaining to price at all, something like “what is AD listed on the card”. Their response was, I’ll take 15,500. I found that odd as well and like others have mentioned, I don’t think they carry the watches in stock that they have listed.
