Wow - I'm speechless.
I'm glad I have read this thread as I have been looking at getting an old jubilee bracelet refurb'd soon. This has def put me off sending to Michael Young. One of the main reasons were the lack of communication with the customers. That's not how one should conduct his/her business. Out of the curiosity, what is the average cost to refurb a stretched TT jubilee by Michael VS. New from Rolex? |

I, too, am watching for the ultimate outcome. Having grown up in the jewelry business, in Los Angeles, I can say that were we the ones to have lost this bracelet, we would have purchased a new replacement, from Rolex, for the customer, immediately, and hopefully would have had it back to him, before he even knew we had lost the old one!
Extremely bad customer service, from what I have read so far.....

I do Jewelry Repair in my store, and Items have been lost or misplaced. Unfortunately it happens to all of us. I step up and pay the customer WHATEVER they think it is worth, or replace it fully in kind, immediately. This is crap!!

this is total bs. i hope michael gets back to you soon. when i contacted him for the crappy job he did on my bracelet, he totally ignored me and never got back to my emails. thus, i vouched never again sent anything to him. however, your loss is far greater for it is sentimentally valuable. please keep us updated.

I do not care what anyone says. If MY lost the bracelet he should replace it with a brand new one. IT is absolutely wrong that he lose a customers merchandise and then get to pick the bracelet thta he wants to repair to replace it. IMHO i do not think anyone should send him another watch again

hope thsi gets resolved, i am a bit shocked by how you have been treated for 2 reasons not incluing teh tiem delay.
1) he admits lost yoru bracelet 2) you sent it to him for a refurb and he sends back a broken bracelet? Is he hoping you send it back for a refurb or something?? good luck

At this point, after all this time, I'd probably send it to Rolex in trade for anew bracelet and be done with it and Michael.it is a shame that you have been treated so badly.

I recently had an old Jubilee (stainless steel) replaced by RSC for $480 using the very old bracelet as a trade in. That got me a brand new bracelete, not a rebuild. Unless an old bracelet has some special meaning, I would consider a tradein with Rolex.

I was considering sending the SS Jubilee bracelet from my inherited DJ for him to restore. Now, I will not even consider it!!! I would be devestated if I lost that bracelet; it has too much sentimental value. looks like I'm going to have to source a new one from Rolex for piece of mind..... I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH MICHAEL YOUNG!!!!!! Screwing over a fellow TRF brother is bad karma enough for me to tell everyone never to do business with him EVER!! Personally, on principal, I would fly to HK to kick his lousy ass or send one of my associates to correct his behavior |

just read through the entire thread, sorry to hear about such poor customer service, despite being so well respected & having many referrals i'm amazed at how long this has dragged on, worse still after MY was informed of the issue being raised on TRF & perhaps other forums, i would have expected someone with such a great rep' to have been falling over themselves to get the situation wrapped up regardless of cost....and as for that replacement bracelet, what the hell was he thinking when he sent that out
