Is the story for real though? I have a hard time believing that. So that AD sold a no date sub to a tourist?
they sold an sd43 to a tourist!

Walk in luck, unexpected incoming!

Perfection. I own the SubC with date yet I find myself oftentimes contemplating also getting a ND as the dial symmetry makes it so much cleaner. Congrats and enjoy in good health.

as we all do, i checked out every Rolex AD. walked in to one of the AD’s and started a casual conversation with the sales assistant. i noticed a couple who were on their honeymoon and the husband had an sd43 on his wrist, the tag dangling, and bezel protector on.. which caught me off guard
she commented on my hulk and said they don’t see many of them coming through.. the lucky guy ahead of me purchased the sd43 and we tried on one another’s watches for a few minutes and i must say, i expected the sd43 to be a lot larger on my wrist, but it felt and looked quite nice.
got to talking to the sales lady again
and told her i’d love to find a black sub to go along with my hulk, she smiled and said she has one in the back & offered to let me try it on..she brought it out and i immidietly knew i had to have it. took some convincing on her end with the manager who tried calling a few people who were on the “list” with no success.. so after a short wait (that seemed like forever!) she came out and said i can have it. needless to say this was totally unexpected.. the sales staff was super friendly and wanted to sell what they had in the safe.. the shipment came in on friday and i walked in on monday..
even got some swag.. a really nice Rolex hat.
just last week i was talking with my girlfriend about how i’ll probably never be able to get a watch at retail because there is no AD on our island and then this happened!
also, while waiting i watched a gentleman try on an explorer they pulled out of the back for him, but he passed on it, for whatever reason!
well pics or it didn’t happen, am i right?!
