5513 with dial I cant classify

The story I was told on this watch is that it is a 1977 given to my father in 1978 when he graduated high school. He then gave it to me when I graduated college, but not before sending it back to Rolex to have it "gone through". I have searched the 5513mattedial site and many others, but cannot find a dial that matches exactly. With the surrounds, without T<25, closed 6's, etc. So my question is, was this dial replaced when it was sent back to Rolex or is it just an uncommon dial? Thanks.

It’s a Luminova service dial.

So yes, Rolex replaced the Dial hands and insert during that service.

It's good to have a fully-functioning (i.e. luminous) vintage Sub. I had mine done by Rolex, too, although as a 1989 model it looked pretty much like this anyway when new, apart from the SWISS text

Old Expat, who makes that vintage style tropic rubber strap? How do you like it? It looks great, I want to give one a try.

I think I got it here a few years ago: https://www.watchgecko.com/rubber-wa...tropical-style

Quality is fine, very supple. It's a very similar style to the one you could get with a new Rolex Sub way back in the days when ADs were still supplied with them by Rolex (as I recall).

Awesome, thanks for info. Will give it a try on my sub. Wow didn’t know ADs supplied them back in the day. When was that?
