Incoming Polar!!!

Hey all - just got my new Polar yesterday. So excited! According to the AD it was part of their first shipment and she called me right when it came in and she put it aside until I got there to pick it up. Tags reflected the new bumped up price.

Honestly this one has been on my list since 2004 but other needs and wants (e.g., a Bluesy in 2005 when they were hot) got in the way. I let my AD know a few days after Christmas that I was ready to buy one should it come in and voila - less than a month and I am one happy camper. I visited the AD once a couple of weeks ago to check in and look at inventory, chatted them up a bit, tried on a Platona (you have to see and wear one if given the opportunity it's freakin' awesome), and left empty handed. I texted my SA Tuesday for an update, nothing came in, then I get the call yesterday.

Only off thing about the experience - the ADs new policy was cash, check or debit only on all stainless steel sports models. So I had to call my lovely wife to meet me at the AD as she had our checkbook. Strange times we live in!

Anyhoo, I couldn't be happier - I thought it may be too big on my 7 1/4 inch wrist but I love how it looks and feels. I definitely made the right choice.

Have a great day everyone!

Looks amazing. Congrats. Wrist shots always make a watch looks bigger than the eyes see in the metal. Wear it in good health.

Cash policy is strange (only for steel models?), not sure I understand that....I was happy to use my CC on my last 2 purchases for the reward points

Anyway Congrats!

I missed this the first time! That is a very strange policy. Was it a “mom and pop” AD or big box? When I got my DSSD a couple of weeks ago at Mayor’s, I put it all on my Delta AMEX.

The AD was a one store shop - albeit they have a big showroom with tons of Tudors, Patek, Panerai and IWC watches. I sent a thread yesterday when I was there letting people know they had a blue Milgauss, black DSSD and a plethora of Yacht Masters.

Congratulations, I love that watch! It looks great on your wrist. I've had two of them and only considered the polar dial. I guess I just like the GMT II better.

wow that watch is super rare in the Denver area, i have been waiting for 6 months. went to another AD in frustration and they said they saw maybe 1 Polar all of last year.

Congrats! hopefully the 2020 shipments in Denver change my luck.

Crazy, I remember like a year and a half ago the Polar was the unloved stepchild of the lineup and one of the only SS pieces you could reliably find.
