Would you?

The watches I have are listed in my signature. With that said, would you trade a BLNR for an Exp2 Polar and Air-King. I figure I could potentially trade even or a marginal amount for both. In my mind that’ll make all my watches different and I really want a Pepsi over a Batman. Preferably the WG meteorite Pepsi.

Why not. If you like Exp2 Polar or the Air King. I actually do like the Air King.

Why not trade the blnr towards the meteorite? Would seem to be beter bang for the buck as opposed to getting two watches you don't appear to really want.

I do like both the air king and the polar. Plus I am unsure when I’ll get the call for a meteorite. By the time that comes I might have the money set aside anyway.

Gotcha - in that case, it's your watch/ money but I wouldn't.

I would. Love the 42mm Explorer II. White dial will pop in your collection. You’ll still have a GMT. Plus if you wore the BLNR I doubt you would ask.

Would you?

No. I would keep what I have and enjoy it. If I wanted to add something else, I would do so without having to cannibalize the collection.

Absolutely correct. I have had so many Rolexes since I got my first one in 1979. In retrospect, I wish I had worked it out to keep every one of them. Definitely keep what you have or one day in the future you may kick yourself for getting rid of any of them.

It's easy to say no because the BLNR is a popular watch but if you're eyeing another GMT down the road anyway and really like the Air King/Exp, yeah it's a good idea. That said, I like the uniformity of the collection so far with the Omega breaking it up.

There are a couple of them on WatchRecon right now. One of those is listed in the For Sale section here. Why not trade your BLNR for the watch you really want?

I see the general consensus is definitely a No.

In theory if I did do the trade I’d be trading ~$10k for ~$15k worth of watches since I got the BLNR for retail. That to me looks like a pretty good ROI. Plus one watch to enjoy becomes two and my wife doesn’t kill me. Haha

It really depends...when you start talking about enjoying watches, we're getting into a lot of subjectivity.

Along with subjectivity, you're bringing into play the age old question that's been debated on TRF ad nauseam: are there single watches you can actually enjoy more than multiple watches? Most times this question comes up with PM vs. steel.

There's certainly no right answer, it's just going to depend how you feel about all the watches we're talking about here...to include the meteorite pepsi down the road. Good luck with your decision!

Most will say no to a hype piece, but as you have two subs and two GMTs I can see why you want to diversify.

If you really want the GMT meteorite...why waste time...why not cut to the chase... and trade all the watches you need to get your grail....

Explain what you mean by trade down, do you mean the price or some perceived internet hype, some today are more interested in the watch they want to own and wear. Its not all about £££££$$$ or hype but many today think it is, to many lately thats whats Rolex has come to.

I'm not a multiple watch guy and never felt I can become one not in my 20s nor now.
If I were you, i would trade 2 or more for a grail not one for two.

No way at all would I do that trade. I'd rather have one watch I really loved than two that I only liked.
