Most underrated Rolex

Until very recently, the explorer. Still falls into the sort of hard to get category of stainless but not as popular as i think it should be. The 214270 IMO, is one of the best time only sport watches made.

It used to be the YM, but not so much anymore looking at the secondary market prices. Now I'd say the SD43 is probably one of the most underrated Rolex models. Truth be told one needs large wrists for it to look the best (7in/18cm and ideally above).

Daytona SS black dial. Can’t fathom the hype of the white dial when the black is better one in the metal

YM 40 blue/rhodium.
The product photos Rolex has of these two on their website does not look like the actual watch. And for some reason they still put the YM2 as the main photo for the YM lineup, one has to click pretty far in to see these two watches.

I'd say the Datejust line. How often do you read something like "the only models available were DJs?"

I bought my DJ 41 (blue dial, plain bezel, oyster bracelet) back in 2017, back when you could get all models (minus the Pepsi and the Daytona) within a reasonable time. I intentionally went for the DJ, as opposed to the Sub and the Explorer, because I preferred it.
Aside from the design, which is a matter of taste, in my opinion, the DJ (with plain bezel) is as versatile as the sports models, even more so in the upper range of formal; I think a DJ looks less out of place at the pool than a Sub with a suit.

Agreed. My favorite thing about them besides reliability is how I can wear them at the track or for a formal occasion or for just everyday use.

Milgauss Z-Blue - unlike most hyped up watches that easily look good in pictures, the Milgauss does not... it is a watch that needs to be experience IRL to be fully appreciated.

Agree YM 40. They look so good without being flashy.

Exp II and SD43...the two most unloved yet most robust of the line.

Black Sub Date.

Yes, they are relatively common as far as professional Rolex go; however, they come with such a history and design that I believe it is near impossible to give it the credit it deserves.

Wouldn't say any of them are truly underrated anymore...

Maybe three or so years ago I would have said OP from the classic collection and ExpII from the sports collection.

Nowadays I'm not sure there's any real lack of awareness of the virtues of any of the Oyster models... perhaps only Cellini is unfairly overlooked now?
