I'd go with the Daytona, unless you like the DD, then I would do that

Daytona for sure. If the market were to collapse, DDs will be the first ones to go for 30% in red.

Daytona for me as well. Just prefer the 'look' and utility more, as I don't care about a day or date but use a stop watch function daily.

For these choices...I’d go a Daytona but if the DD was YG, WG or PT I would go DD. I’m not a fan of the olive dial. I am a fan of the traditional Day Date esp a Pt glacier blue dial. The President bracket is the best in the Rolex lineup.

Day Date or Daytona

Hi OP! I think I will still go for the DD40 after owning both the SS Daytonas and a YG DD40 white dial romans..

Up to your style. Personally I'd DD all day over a Daytona.

Nothing like the DayDate. If I had to have just one watch, that is the one.

an all gold day date is just DIFFERENT. imo its rolex's most elegant and prestigious watch. MY OPINION ofc.

Two very different styles. I have both, a RG DD40 and a WG Daytona, and I'd say DD is a more versatile watch.

Also, the DD40 is a lot more comfortable to wear than a precious metal Daytona (if it's SS, then this does not apply, but you are asking about a RG Daytona). Both because of the presidential bracelet, and because the weight is better distributed (the Daytona is very dial heavy). That said, the bracelet on the Daytona has micro adjustment and the bracelet on the DD doesn't. The DD bracelet fits me perfect so it's not a problem, but if you are in-between size you will have to order those 1.25 (or 1.5?) links to get a better fit.

Both are literally amazing. If I could only have one, I'd probably do the Day-Date because I personally love the functions of having the day and date. But it's a close call!

Recently I bought a Daytona. Guess what? Now I want a Day Date too!
Not sure if I can give the Daytona away. Still debating.
