The general view is that Bob's is legitimate- no concern about fakes or scams. The issue is pricing. They are too high on the buy and too low on the sell. You can do better with a number of the trusted sellers here.

What jaroush said. Big spread on the pricing, but it seems (to me) that their selling prices seem to be in-line, it's their purchase offers that seem low to me, at least in my experience with a Daytona.

I thought Bob's was the one where they give you a fair price over the phone and then adjust it considerably down when they receive the watch?

What is "considerably down" in this case? I think it would be fair to assume the price would go down a little bit (say $5-600) once they receive it and grade the condition of the watch against their standards in person vs over the phone/pictures. If we're talking thousands of dollars however, that would raise an issue with me.

This.

Though I found them very courteous and professional Bob's offered me 4100 for a U serial 16710 Coke with all original papers and box. I thought it was funny and politely suggested they have a look at the current market.

Whether it's a hundreds or a thousands, if it's a consistent pattern of always grading down and never up...it would raise an issue with me

I purchased my watch at a great price from them. Can't speak to the buying. But based on the online price the spread does seem very wide. But a non trusted seller has a hard time selling on trf I would imagine. So hard to compare.

Its not even grading up... at least stick to your word... pictures usually tell a pretty accurate story... I rarely have to readdress pricing when buying... enough pictures at the right angles should generally be enough as long as there aren't serious movement issues. I always assume a watch will need a service and polish...

I am looking at purchasing a Submariner SS date, at Bob's Watches and they warranty, yes, the prices here are less, but with no warranty, cant decide with is better!
i can afford new or older but I like the older sub, the new one are just to heavy and I have been comparing for some time now and ready to buy!
