IWC Big Pilot- Too Big

Hi,

Anyone feel the IWC BP is simply too big for daily wear? I feel there is a point where a watch can look silly if its too big. At 46mm, you have to be 6ft and big to pull this off. Comfort was an issue as well. I couldn't get this to sit right, it just didn't feel right, so I had to take this off my WTB list.

BTW I wear a 44mm Panerai nearly everyday. I'm used to a larger watch and the IWC BP just didn't seem right.

When you know the watch is the one, you don't want to take it off. There shouldn't be a hesitation or uncertainty. The look and feel should be spot on, this one was not it for me.

I think unless you are 6 foot and more or weigh at least 200 pounds the Big Pilot is too big for you

I used to have a Steinhart flieger (Unitas based) in 47mm and it wore quite comfortably. My wrist size is 7.5' and I thought it is ok. Now it is my brothers daily wear. I wouldn't wear it now as I got used to smaller watches, still admiring it look on my brothers' wrist though.

For every person, any watch can be too small or too big

For one guy, a Big Pilot, or an even larger watch, may be just right
For another, a 36mm Datejust

Obviously, for fewer people will a 47 mm Panerai be a good fit than a 44 mm Panerai

And then there are those who will wear what some may feel is too big or small, and just don't care what others think

Well, it's supposed to be that size, so, in that sense, no, I don't think it's too big. Love the crown.

Is it too big for me? Yes, most definitely.

I love that reference and I hope to try one on this weekend

I think you just know if a watch is too big or small

I hear comments made here about how large the DSSD and SD43 is ... And yet for me 7" flat wrist) they fit and feel perfect.

Only you can judge what's right for you and your wrist
