Hand wind or automatic winder for my 5205R
Because I'm in an operating room suite most of the week, I don't have any opportunity to wear my 5205R until each weekend. And I do NOT enjoy resetting it every weekend once it runs down. Therefore, I'm left with the choice of either hand-winding it every day (as it sits on my dresser), or sticking it into a winder for the week; again, enjoying it each weekend when I can wear "normal" clothes. Any advice as to which option is better for the watch? Thanks.

Manually winding a watch everyday that you’re not going to wear sounds like a chore, pop it on a winder.
A good quality winder will certainly not harm the piece. |

I can certainly see it not being for everyone...but I love the manual 'task' of winding and setting my watch...even my 3940. I consider it part of the ritual.

I prefer to let my watch rest during the weekdays, and adjust 1 time during the weekend. Such an adjustment will only entail pushing the pin on the date, day and moonphase pushers, at 6am. It shouldn't take too much time ~ 2 min max.

if you don't enjoy setting a watch, you need a winder. I am the other way around. I bought winders but enjoy setting a watch, thus have no use for my winders. :)

I enjoy setting time and date on my watches. I have been using winder for 5205 just because of multiple settings. I am a little overwhelmed because I just acquired it. Maybe, I will stop using the winder in future.

I prefer the winder. It will be ready to go when you are.

I use a winder JUST for your reason.
