Rolex sizing

I apologize in advance for this question, as I'm sure it has been asked many times before. However I searched and found none that really answered my question. So here goes.

How tight should the bracelet be (just the metal bracelets, not leather)?

My new Explorer seems loose, but I can fit my pinky between my wrist and the clasp, just past the first knuckle, and no further. And if I try to fit my index finger, it doesn't go at all (unless I push unreasonably hard).

Is this right?

Yep, that, or maybe a little bit tighter is the way I want it to fit.

Yea the pinky thing works for me. When you are cool and not sweaty. Otherwise it s too tight on me when it is hot...

It's a preference thing, comfort is personal. On the snug rather than floppy side will prolong the life of the bracelet though.

I prefer it on the snug side, but not tight. The case stays on top of my wrist with maybe just a little movement, so I don't have to throw it into position when going to read it. But no way I can spin it around my wrist or anything close to that.

If it "seems" loose it is. I like mine a little snugger than that

Mine wears a little loose when my hand is in a relaxed position or if my hand is in a fist.

If my fingers are full extended (e.g. spreading my fingers out or making a 'chop' hand), my wrist expands quite a bit and the watch becomes a bit snug.

Thus, I check comfort by extending my fingers, because if the watch is snug with my hand relaxed, it's going to be pretty tight when I extend my fingers.

Welcome to TRF. Most any question has probably been asked here already. But you can bet there will be someone reading this that will benefit from your thread. So no worries about asking, ok?

And the pinky thingy butters my biscuits.

Really depends and is personal preference. Some people here wear them extra tight which would never work for me. Generally speaking if you can fit a finger between wrist and watch you are good to go!

So that it fits you comfortably. Depends a bit on the watch. I wear my sea dweller a bit tighter. More important is where the clasp is positioned.

I'm looking for jocke's starter's guide and cannot find it. Can someone please point me in the right direction and give me a gentle push?

Thanks!

I think it refers to Jocke's picture in this thread where a TRF legend, albeit in the hybrid shape of a head/finger, demonstrates how the fit should be.

No hard and fast rule, whatever feels good to you.

From your description, though, it does sound like you have a pretty good fit. However, if you're not good with it, tighten her on up!
