Help with 6480 Authenticity?

Hello All,

I would like to ask for your expert opinion on this Ref 6480 Oyster precision.

I searched online but could not find an exact model to the one pictured below. I can see some similar ones though. Might this be a frankenwatch? Sellee stated though that dial is original and bracelet is not. But I have my doubts about the dial.

He is letting it go for around $1630. Does that seem like a fair price if this is indeed aunthentic?

Some searches I have found online:

Your help would be appreciated.

Thank you!
Adrian

Thank you for the insight. The one with the different lume is the search I came up searching for 6480 models online to compare it with the one that is being sold to me.

It looks ok to me for being a 1957. Does the serial number between the lugs match the 57 date on the case back? The price seems a bit high for its condition. The bracelet is from the 70's and isnt correct for the watch. Hopefully it is authentic Rolex and not an aftermarket bracelet. Any pics of the clasp of the bracelet or the end links?

I'll have to check for the serial number. I forgot to ask him for it. Thank you! Seller did state that the bracelet is not authentic. A bit expensive for it not having the original bracelet no?

Why would you want a 60 year old, worn out, bracelet on it?

Authentic and original are two different things.

Way too expensive for only having a cheap $30 knockoff bracelet. At this point you are just buying the head. Due to the corrosion that I can see on the dial markers and on the case, I wouldnt give anymore than $1100 retail for it.

I agree that the price is too high as is. It also looks quite a bit polished (lugs do look overpolished to me).

Here is my '58 one with chevron dial!

Thanks. Notice the differences in the lugs between mine and the one you posted, to get a sense of how they should look in a somewhat better example of this case reference.

Probably within 5-10 sec per day after service a few years ago. I haven't timed it recently.
