TUDOR Princess Oyster Date 92313 Dial Replacement

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and need your expertise advice. I've had my TUDOR Princess Oyster Date 92313 since the 80's and the dial has developed fine surface lines over the years. It was not too visible for a while but I can see the surface material has started to lift under magnified glass. Please see pics. Btw, the watch itself is working fine.

I'm considering 2 options, 1. Have a dial replaced or 2. Sell it for parts, and here are my questions. Is it even possible to find a replacement? Any idea where and approx. cost for parts and service? I didn't find any listed online for this model. And what is a good price to sell for parts?

That is an extreme case of "Spider Webbing". It is a defect in the dial. If you take it to an AD for a service, they will replace the dial. You can also take it to a trusted watch maker in your area or send it to one recommended by the forum.
You can also browse eBay for a replacement dial and then just have the dial replaced without a service. I would recommend a service though since you will have the watch apart anyways.

A service through Rolex will run around $800-900
A service through a trusted watchmaker on this forum will probably run half that.

Most independents have access to a redialer (repaint) at a reasonable cost. I would get it serviced, pick a color for your dial and enjoy it for another 30 years. :)

Hi offrdmania, Thanks for your advice. I read somewhere that AD normally use new parts. Do you think they have the original or close to the original white dial or only the newer ones? Thanks!

Hi Richard Carver, Thanks for responding to my question. By "independents" do you mean non-AD watchmakers? Is "repaint" different from replacing a dial? Is this condition caused by paint cracking and peeling? Thanks!

I would just watch eBay and get another nice dial. Tudor dials like this don’t sell for much. A local watchmaker should be able to switch it for you easily. Harry

If you like the watch and want to wear it for a lifetime, just take it to RSC and have it serviced and put a new dial in. These aren’t collectible watches and new parts won’t diminish the value. I’m sure they can find the dial you want. Problem is, you may pay more for the service than it would cost to buy the same vintage model.

The AD wouldnt have anything original due to the age of the watch but they would have the most current dials to fit the movement that you can choose from.

As said above, keep checking eBay and used dials do sometimes come up for sale. There isnt a huge demand for lady size dials so they are quite inexpensive.

Looks like AD or RSC could cost as much as buying the same serviced model online... As for what to expect on eBay listings what is considered a good pricing for a vintage Tudor dial like this? Also, would any dials for Princess Oysterdate suppose to fit or I'll need to look for more specifics, i.e. production year? Mine is 92313 and self-winding model.

Thank you for post. It has a white dial with Roman numerals. Case Diameter measures approx 22mm excl. crown and 25mm incl. crown.

Thank you, 330ci. I know! I was surprised that someone posted a question 2 years later, too.

I was looking for a replacement on eBay for a while but never came across a white dial with Roman numerals. There were some overseas sellers listing the same serviced model though.

The case is only 22mm and spider webbing is not that visible while wearing it although it looks bad in close up and I know it's there(!) It seems that this particular dial was susceptible to spider webbing unfortunately.
