Opinions on this DD diamond dial?

Listed FS as “original Rolex,” but this doesn’t look right to me, mostly because I don’t recall seeing any other DD dials with diamonds set in WG, but the coronet in YG. (Also the spacing in ROLEX looks tighter toward the end.)

Opinions from others with more expertise on fonts etc. would be much appreciated. Maybe the two colors is a two-tone thing, but DDs don’t “do” two-tone (other than arguably Tridor, and I doubt they ever bothered to make Tridor-only dials).

TIA for any assistance ....
.

LMK if this belongs in General forum, I’m not sure where 5-digits should go these days!

Its no good, here is a list of original dials. The factory dial had a black surround with a red center.

Thanks, I’ve seen that dials page, and I believe I know what you mean about the “vignette” or “degradée” gradient-to-black colored dials. IIRC, those also did not have the radial (annular?) patterned shimmery / iridescent type surface like this one (and others) does - I think Rolex has made this ‘pattern’ of colored dials, I believe I’ve even seen them in their catalogs.

That page is for the 18238 (DQ) reference dials - Were there other, different dials available earlier, for the 18038 (0Q) and 18138 (1Q) references?

I very much appreciate the info - I’m trying to learn!

Repaint, fonts are wrong, never seen that...color...before. Notice how the color thins as it breaks over the bevels for the date and day windows? Rolex would never do that.
