Surprising Service Offer Today
Today I was walking in Manhattan on my way to the subway and I happen to go by Tourneau, a very well-known jeweler and an AD for many watches, including Rolex. I bought my Submariner from Bob's Watches in California and while I have no complaints about it, it occurred to me that if I ever need the speed tweaked a little bit, sending it to California would be a major project. So I went in and asked them if they could adjust the regulation of my watch which I did not buy there. Initially they thought I meant I needed a cleaning but the watch doesn't need that. (in fact it doesn't need regulation at this point -- it's about one second per day fast).
When they finally understood what I meant they said they'd be happy to do that and when I asked how much it would cost they said, "We're an authorized dealer. We're happy to do minor service like that for any Rolex owner at no cost." This I definitely did not expect. Do all Rolex ADs have this policy, or is Tourneau unusually nice? Mike Taglieri |

Good decision by the AD for future business.

I would ask do they send it to a RSC or contract it out. That would be a huge difference to me. I would want to know for certain who is opening up the back of my watch.

I really wouldn’t want anyone at tourneau opening my watch.
Or touching it. Or breathing on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cool. It's good to know a salesman is working on your watch. I mean, they have nothing to sell, may as well tinker on watches.

Torneau wouldn’t remove links on my wife’s Cartier watch. Another dealer a few miles away did, for free. Guess who I buy from now.

I was hoping if I ever needed something like that, it could be done while I waited. If it had to be sent out, might as well send it to Bob's Watches, whose watchmaker did a splendid job the first time.

Why not swing by RSC NYC and see what they'd do for you?
