Authentification: 1807 Full Bark Bracelet and Case, Linen Dial

First post here; thanks for having me everyone! My name is Luka; I'm looking to getting my first rolex. I currently am an avid Seiko collector-- lilseikos on instagram. I have a niche for watches--especially Seiko that are sub 40mm.

For me; my collection must be watches that one can't just get. So vintage and hard to find/rare, and ALL ORIGINAL as if it came right out of the factory--no aftermarket parts, no refinishing, no polish, etc is where my interests lie.

I came across this on le interweb and am not able to find anything similar.

This is an 1807 with a complete bark finish of the case and bracelet, with an a diamond in the clasp (I realize this is an aftermarket touch).

My question is; is this a production from Rolex-- basically, would this combination of dial, bracelet, and case come straight out of the Rolex factory or whatever as it is OR is this case "mod"/refinished, the "mod"/refinished complete bark bracelet a "mod"/refinished?

It is very important to me that these requisites are met for my collection..

Thank you all so much; I dont doubt its authenticity however I am not certain if this is a "factory" piece.

Was posted previously by user mrmj but not 100% sure what the consensus was.

I am pretty sure that the only areas that should have the bark finish are the center link of the bracelet, and the bezel.

That dial is a horridly refinished and would pass if this is the watch you're considering.

Thanks gents! Appreciate the responses; Ive spoken to owner and he has confirmed that "The dial is authentic Rolex, the finish is custom, the bark is Rolex on the bezel and center links, the other links is custom." The search for my first rolex continues.

Hi Luka, welcome!

With the Florentine decoration, I’ve read here on TRF that there was an option to get the Florentine finish on just the bracelet’s outer links, or “full Florentine,” with the pattern on center links also.

But with bark decoration, AFAIK the factory ones were decorated on center links only, with no other options offered. Judging by your first photo, I doubt that’s factory bark decoration on the bracelet (striations are too wide), I don’t think there were ever factory bark decorations on the cases, and I’m pretty certain that’s not a factory bark decoration on the bezel. There are two distinct types of bark bezel, and that doesn’t look much like either.

Does the case actually even have an 1807 reference? (Even if it does, my money says that bezel has been “re-barked” at best, I’ve never seen one which looks like that.)

You may want to check out this thread OP. A few people have asked about that watch. There is just way too much that has been modified from original.

The printing on the dial is not great and the lume plots don’t line up with the batons.

Looking for case

Does anyone have a daydate white gold case for sale?

I have a 3035 converted movement and I’ve tried every case that would fit a 3035 but I’ve been told with the addition that the only case it can fit in is a daydate case. Will pay for it as I want it finish watch.

Please dont clutter someone elses thread with a new subject. You need to become a pledge member and post in the Want to Buy section. This post is a breach of the forum rules and will most likely become deleted by a moderator..

Good luck finding just a white gold case. If one does become available you will probably pay close to 10 grand for it alone.

luka = wound in malay language. My name is luka....listen to Suzanne song lyrics ..

My name is Luka I live on the second floor I live upstairs from you. Yes I think you've seen me before If you hear something late at night. Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight, Just don't ask me what it was Just don't ask me what it was Just don't ask me what it was And they only hit until you cry After that, you don't ask why You just don't....
