Pulled the trigger “incoming”

So I decided what the hell lifes short and went out and got my first real grail piece. I traded in my 36 TT DJ circa 95 plus cash for a newer DJ 2 TT Wimbledon. Every night for the past few months I’ve looked at pictures and videos, basically dreamt about owning this watch or a watch like this and now I do. After I took off my last watch I knew I had to have this watch just from the weight and construction alone (hollow links vs. solid) I’m pretty speechless to say the least esp since I got it for a steal. Thanks everyone who helped me decide whether the trade up was worthy

Is there any reason for the Nine O'clock baton design?

I’ve always wondered this as well and thought the same.

Congrats on the beautiful incoming, OP!

Thanks everyone! I am currently already dealing with a problem so I may have to go swap it out they had 2 Wimbledon’s one had papers and this one didnt. When I wind the watch it sounds like there’s sand inside it’s very gritty and rough. The watch seems to be running fine though but I don’t think that’s normal esp not after owning it for only one day. I only let it rest for about 8 hours but it was still rough and scratchy a little less but definitely not as smooth as my previous older dj
