DJ 16014 as my first & last

Hi guys I'm turning 30 tomorrow and the only thing I wanna give myself is a
genuine watch,a watch that I can keep forever or maybe pass it on to my kid someday.I've always been a fan of vintage rolex's I fell in love right away when I saw this one "16014 DJ 18k" which I think would really fit me well the bracelet, bezel and specially the dial(as grey is one of my favourite color)
also the year that it was built made me love it even more(same as my birth yr)
now my question would be is the price decent since it has no box and paper?
what should I look for or ask the seller?although he provided some details but I wanna make sure that all the parts are original.Again this would be the first watch I'm buying myself and this is gonna be the only watch that I will treasure the most so I want everything to be perfect and have no regrets in the end.
thanks in advance

It looks real good, nice condition. Two links are missing from the bracelet, so it may not fit you. If he has the two links, or it fits without them, I would say it is a good deal. Try for $2500 or $2600 as he says make an offer.

That is a fine looking Rolex for your first/last watch. Do some price negotiation before buying. If you need extra links for the bracelet, they are easy to find. The bracelet as is will fit a good size wrist.

The key is that you authenticate before buying, the $20 is money well spent. In general, make sure you "buy the seller." More important than the deal is the person you are buying from.

Unless you know what you are doing I say stay away from Craig's List. If you do decided to proceed do a FTF.

Just my opinion.

When I buy a watch online (missing paperwork) I first always pay with paypal no matter what, have the watch locally authenticated and then send the watch to RSC to get definitive provenance. You may be without the watch for a little, but nothing stings worse then getting a clunker. As an aside, these watches are 30 years old and look brand new. I have watches 1/10 as old that don't look as good. Datejusts are everyday wearers, it would be hard to imagine one that old in such good shape (much less two).

This is my opinion of course and could be completely wrong

How much does it cost you to get the RSC to check it?

If your local Watchsmith says its fake is that enough for PayPal or does RSC need to look at it?

Thinking about buying on eBay but just wondering how much it will cost if its a fake

It costs nothing (except the cost of postage). They will not generate an estimate to do work on a watch that isn't authentic. If paperwork is missing, this is sufficient for me
