A few years back when I was just starting college and doing sales in the motorcycle industry a guy came into our shop wearing an AP. I complimented him on it and he was absolutely floored that I knew what it was; apparently in 3 years of ownership I was only the second person to ever recognize/compliment it. He became my regular!

Yes, but I draw the line at some of those gold-plated stethoscopes.

Yes I do.
Pretty much everyday since 2002. I appreciate the joys of such a fine piece of machinery!! It’s also been a delightful icebreaker with lots of patients, including other TRF Members(whom I met because we both realized there was another WIS in the room) |

My doctor wears a vintage sub with lugholes. I'd love to ask him about it but when we're together that's not a priority.

I’m an RN and I wear my sub date daily to work. Fits perfectly especially when I had to consider what watch to wear to work if I had to do CPR on someone. The sub date isn’t too large or chunky for my arms if such an event were to happen so it won’t get in the way. The only other Rolex I see at work are lady dj’s and one doc who I rarely see has a Batman.

My family mostly are doctors and scientists and they also wear mostly Rolex too. However, we don’t wear Rolex to work.

As a dentist I don't wear it while treating patients because the water spray of the handpiece carries debris onto the watch. I don't want to carry this from patient to patient and I prefer not to pull a rubber glove over it..

I don't, but I'm an ER physician. My daily work environment is full of chaos and bodily fluids. Not really a great place for a Rolex. Plus, I have a TON of student loans. Maybe once that is all paid off!
Also, person in the photo is not a physician. He's a "doctor" like your English professor is a doctor. (Not knocking him/his job/his field, but just making a point since it seems you were inquiring about physicians wearing Rolex's.) Cheers! |

I had an allergist who wore a DJ he bought himself when he got out of med school. He stopped wearing it in favor of an Apple watch just about the same time I stopped going to him and chose another allergist. Coincidence or indicator I'm not really certain.

I never understood those in the medical/ healthcare profession being self conscious about wearing Rolex. Everyone knows folks in healthcare get paid very well. Most of my docs drive nice cars and some have nice watches.

I rotate a 5 digit blue TT sub, an 18238, and a 6 digit DJ 36.
I recently had a patient wearing an "identical" blue TT sub. She asked me how I liked mine, showed me hers, and then I saw the Invicta logo. She proceeded to tell me how anyone was crazy for paying the price for a Rolex when "our" Invictas were so nice to begin with. So now after visits we talk about those "crazy Rolex people." Not knocking Invicta, just thought that was funny. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk |
