help in identifying oysterdate precision

Hi
I have has this Oysterdate Precision which my father bought sometime around the late fifties and gave to me.I have worn since the early eighties and would like to identify the reference. I have taken off the rivetted oyster bracelet as a link was broken. Posting a couple of pictures here. Would like to understand the history if anyone can help
