C2/3 are my favs. Long time Corvette driver. Went to the Germans 10 years or so ago. My last one was a C5 which was a great all around car with a serious tune. Fit 2 sets of clubs on the trunk.
This has me interested. Will definitely go drive one. Biggest question will I fit in it comfortably. Old Vettes were comfortable to me. Other than getting in and out.

My last was a C5 also (hence the handle). The C8 is going to be a huge homerun for the bowtie. If I was in the market for a sports car, this would be the end all. That level of performance and reliability...unreal.

C7 starts at $56K, C8 only $59K base price. Of course future Z variations will be more and yes you can run up the options list but overall it's a bargain.

I like this. I am actually really intrigued. I'm just starting to look at new cars right now and considering a sports model this time around. This may be worth the wait and see compared to a Porsche at a similar price-point. That being said, I have a hard time seeing this start at around $60k.

I think this is the best looking car they have come out with since the C4 platform (ridicule me for saying this). I am not going to lie, it definitely looks like a lot more sports cars out there than Corvette's have in the past. That doesn't stop me from saying it's a good looking car and IMO better looking than some of the recent, previous generations.

I really want to like this one. I know my grandfather would go crazy if I bought one of these things. He has a 1958 Corvette - first and only owner of the car. He brings it out for drives along the beach very infrequently these days (he's 89) but has always loved Corvette as a car manufacturer. Also had a C3 back in the 70's (those have always been my favorite) but sold it after ~5 years.

Seen this one at a movie theater parking lot. Love it! I prefer American muscle over any German or Italian any day.

Well it is starting at 60k. They confirmed it.

Was thinking of trading my 911 turbo in for a cpo mclaren in a year or two. Honesty with the strong drivetrain and reliability of the Vette, I might go for the Z06 when they release it, which I’m assuming will be a twin turbo V8. Of course that’s depending how the C8 holds up but I bet it’s a great platform.

Corvette definitely did the right thing. Now it’s a serious 911 rival. Mid engine and dual clutch are a vicious combo.

The same driver (Christian Gebhardt) set the Nürburgring record for both cars.

You can get two Z06's for the price of one 911 Turbo, and even if you spend an extra $28,900+ to upgrade to the 911 Turbo S, you will still be over 3 seconds slower than a Z06 in a lap around the Nürburgring. If the 911 Turbo S can't come close to beating the Z06 on the Nürburgring, how do you think it will do against the Corvette on the street? This is also with the current lineup they have now.

More of a destroyer than a rival, at half the cost ................and that’s coming from a 911 fan !

I am liking the C8 and definitely interested. Let’s get the bugs out in 2020 and I will be ready in 2021.

This

Never ever ever ever buy a first year production.

Hopefully they will put a real transmission in 2021 models !

IMO the new C8 looks 10X better then the cartoonish C7.....
Kudo's to Chevy as they have been trying for a mid-engine Vette since the early 70's.

C8 is a bargain like no other, it's ridiculous. Supercar territory for the price of a Porsche Cayman. Though I prefer the C7 Grand Sport manual. I think I should start looking for one...

Some truth there. Driving a corvette packs more stigma than wearing a Rolex.

Never owned one and probably never will but man this one is tempting to change it up.

I think that’s what Chevrolet is trying to change !

Jorts, ponytails, dress socks with sandals, and gold chains are now out of style.

2 of my friends are already planning to buy one. One has been waiting patiently for about a decade or so for a mid engine. He was ecstatic that it’s not going to start in the 100s and almost caved and got an NSX reboot last year.
It looks miles better than the current model and for the money, it’s in a class by itself.

Dont think that is public yet. But you may be able to get an idea from you local dealer.

The current z51 1lt is 62k. The 3lt is 72k.

So I am guessing 65 to 67k. Or 76k for the 3lt.

Never buy the first model year of a new car imo. Too many things can happen.

I tend to agree with that, but I got a 2012 911 when they switched from the 997 to 991. A couple of minor recall items, but the car has been flawless.
