🌚 Happy 50th Anniversary 🚀 Apollo 11
In July 1969, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first two people to step foot on the moon.
Now, 50 years on, it’s amazing how far the space program has come – and how far we have left to go.

An incredible achievement and many more will come in the future. I've always been fascinated with anything space related.

I remember that day very well, and what I was doing at 3:17PM Central and 9:56PM Central as they landed and then walked on the moon.
A photo was published today that had not yet been seen by the public (screen grab from a frame of HD film in NASA archives). This is Neil Armstrong just after he stepped onto the moon. You can see he has only left a few footprints at this point. First photo that shows his face, as his sun-visor was not down at this moment. They only found this yesterday in re-examing footage. Almost all photos from the moonwalk show Aldrin, not Armstrong, so this is a very notable shot.

Interestingly, Armstrong first stepped on the moon at 02:56UTC.
Omega announced the new 321 Speedmaster just today at 02:56UTC ! Great idea ! Exactly 50 years after. |
