Icon20 New 2013 SEs - 502, 503, 521, 522, 528, 532, 538

Most, if not all, have been mentioned in a few threads here already, but, since Penerai can't control itself, neither can I, and I've grouped them all in this one thread.

As Panerai says...."Paneristi Forever"!!

More seriously, at first blush, I like the 521, 522 and 532. I can even see how the 538 could be nice.

As for "Paneristi Forever"...Cheesy, yes, but, it's on the back. As for the front, while I'm no longer dead-set against the PIG, it would have made a LOT more sense to have put the logo instead of the PIG since this watch is a sequel to the 360. I like the mix of white and ecru. I also predict a LOT of whining once it becomes clear how the 500 were allocated....

Regardless of which one you like or don't like, I really think they're doing a nice job on dressing up the movement these days. Really love the movement on the 502 and 538.

that's true. both the 233 and 538 use the P.2002 movement (538 referred to as P.2002/10), but with dramatically different results.

As controversial as 532 is already sounding.. I like it for the way it looks... actually pretty cool! However, I can do without the Panerai forever language.. because only DIAMONDs are forever!

The present lot of 507 and 508 won't make it to the boutiques till Jan 2014 ... Wonder when these SEs would see light of the day and wrists of those with deep pockets and solid connections. I like the 532 but am still not sold on the 9200 Euro price tag. Of course, there is practically no chance in hell I am getting a call ..

The first one is a winner in my book, but then again, at that price range I would rather pick up a PP, AP or ALS.

Thank you for posting these. Excited to see the new models in the flesh, and am pleased with the direction Panerai is taking.

I like them with the exception of the 00538. Though I still belive the 372 and 127 are the nicest modern PAM`s.

I'd have to agree although we can't forget the 233.

For those who don't know what piece(s) I'm referring to, here it is. According to Mr. Ferretti*, models with such bezels were reserved for the Navy's heads of departments / Commanders and his assumption is there can't be more than 10~15 of such front-bezels. There's also a photograph of a 3646 w/Cali dial and engraved bezel floating around but I haven't been able to find it again...

c/o Club Panerai

*That's Mr. Ferretti on the right, along with Panerisiti Fred (center) and of course, Alessandro Bettarini (left).

FYI.....recent Forbes article on the 532: http://www.forbes.com/sites/arielada...for-cult-fans/

I've heavily warmed up to the 532, but, at €9,200, there's no doubt I will only enjoy it from afar.

Yes, quite pricey. But for those willing to fork up that amount, please note that #00 is already spoken for... by Hammer!!!
