PAM 005 Movement Change?

Hi all
Considering purchasing a new 005 but just heard from AD that movement will likely change to in house and list price will rise.
Any truth in this?
If the PAM 005 is switched to an in house movement does that mean the old movement 005s will take a serious hit?
Like the look of this watch but don't want to have a dinosaur in a year or two.
thanks!

The "old" movement is proven, reliable and accurate history. Its also easier get repaired and find parts. The "in-house" movement is a popular advertising angle many companies have jumped on the last 10 years. There is always more issues with in-house movements simply because there hasn't been any real world longevity test. It may be great it may be a lemon, you are the lab mouse paying to test it out. Its superiority is only as good as its advertising dollar behind it. Some watch snobs like to think there is some special magic in a in house movement. I own both and see no difference. Buy what you like and forget the sales hype.

I unequivocally prefer old movement

Having owned 2 005's, a 000 and a 111, I'm actually hoping they move the 8-day into the 005 (or at least a logo dial model). Anymore, I can't justify the price of a 005 considering it's a basic movement identical to the one inside my $400 Steinhart.

I have nothing against the movement, but the price point is absurd for something so basic and mass produced.

Bring on the 8-day Logo!
