Have you looked at the Rolex DateJust 2, rhodium dial with blue arabic numerals. Beautiful, simple, trendy and plenty large enough for aging eyes. Goes with anything from jeans to a suit on Sunday. Hard to find any fault with this one...at any age.

The SubLV with maxi dial, SubC, GMT-C, DJ2, ExpII/42 ought to be a good start.
The Omega SMP and IWC Aquanaut also have nice dials for aging eyes. |

I own a lot bigger watches. Any Panerai with its cleaner face is easier to read than anything from the other brands. Its in its own league. You didn't say if you needed a automatic or date but the Pam 112 is a wind up with a super clean and legible face with lume that will out shine any of the other brands. Its not ridiculously expensive either.

IMO there's not much better than the PAM372. I'd pay more to be able to read the time.

I gave my dad a Stowa flieger - hard to beat those old-style aviator dials for legibility.
Many fliegers are 45mm+ diameter, but the Stowa is 40mm which suits my dad perfectly

i agree that panerai is clean and legible but there are tons of aviator watches to choose from without being obnoxious even if over sized.
