I’m a truck driver I wear this 118238 daily. I do have other sources of income as well. However I have seen other drivers with nice watches. I ran into a driver in Carnesville GA two weeks ago who had a Daytona C on.

I wouldn’t be negotiating my raise wearing a full gold watch on.

Sadly, most people are jealous, most bosses are very jealous, this is the world we live in. I work in an engineering office and my Rolex catches attention. The negative one.

My VP is really into watches and always wears either his Nautilus 5712 or his Aquanaut 5164A so I can wear any watch I want without fear of upstaging him at the office. On the other hand my CEO wears a G-Shock. But since she's not really into watches she couldn't care less LOL.

Yes, along with my Louis Vuitton shoes, Prada trousers and jacket, Gucci belt, and Dior overcoat. I also have a Tiffany chain with a cross pendant. If it’s really cold my Burberry scarf, and my favourite Zegna leather gloves. The Rolex gets a bit upstaged by the rest.

Ok, kidding... lol.

Honestly 90% of the people have no idea what kind of watch you have on your wrist.....and most don’t care

I hate it when people say, "it doesn't matter what people think." It's right if it doesn't have any ill effects. I don't wear my Rolex to work. It's the same reason why I don't wear my pajamas to work (I do to the grocery store). For me, it's not about not dressing better than the boss; it's about the image the brand Rolex gives off. I work with people up and down the economic ladder from minimum wage up to about 500k. They all know Rolex, and it is considered flashy just because of the name. If I had AP Royal Oak, almost nobody but other watch people would know, and their opinions would probably not have any ill effects on my career. The good thing is that I don't live at work, and I wear my Rolex GMT outside of work all the time. I tend to wear dressier watches to work anyway. I agree that if you buy a watch, you should wear it, but really it is up to the owner to decide. They purchased the watch, and they can do what they please

I’m retired, so there’s no ‘office.’ Thank goodness. When I did work I wore a Seiko Kinetic, in a job where precision timing really mattered (we had a linked master clock). Now I wear a gold Yachtmaster everywhere. No one notices, except me....

Wear mine to work, dates, casual daily chores. Only time it's not on my wrist is when I sleep, rugged outdoor activities, or when I head to the gym. I use a stainless Apple Watch in those instances for fitness tracking.

Rolex at work

Nope. This is the clean part of my job and I do not need a watch at work anyway so why destroy a SD43 or BLRO just for the sake of wearing it. I do wear them other places.

Aren't they a ghost town post Dodd Frank? All risk takers gone, button pushing culture prevails, no prop trading, no big bets, no fights, no screaming, no side bets and pranks, and 5 compliance officers per 1 trader... they might as well start wearing dress watches and ties again:))

Haha, usually that means that you still have your prop book, which is labeled "hedge book" or "mm inventory", and that's a typical response nowdays: "no prop, but some short term hedging", haha. Still you have to hide it nowdays, like you're doing smth wrong... Sad times, miss the old days when you could swing the cord phone into a compliance guy for asking about why are the positions on your book marked the way they are and why you are above the risk limit! Or prank someone without risk of losing your job, because he immediately ran to hr to cry about his hurt feelings!!! Or start a fight with a sales guy over mismarked 15 bps or late refresh on the price!!!

Anyways, there is more compliance persons on the floor now... I remember the days of PM Rolex and Panerai, but you had to earn the right to rock them!!!

Yes, everyday! I pretty much wear my SD43 24/7, never had a patient mention anything about it.
