Would this dent bother you?

Today, my son accidently dropped the watch and then this happened to my 6-month old Batgirl. Not mad at all, but tbh it’s quite heartbreaking.
Do you guys think this is a bad hit? or something that you can live with it?
What do you guys think?

i wouldn't worry about it. as long as the watch is working fine, no need to obsess over it.

I’d live with it. All part of the story. Besides, when you gift it to him, it will be a fine memory to talk about.

Gutting, although I like everything pristine I would probably like to think I could live with it for a while to see if any other dinks happen but it’s difficult once you know it’s there.

How old is your son? In some way it can be a reminder of him every time you wear your watch. And some story to tell out and about. I wouldn't even bother getting it fixed. And great of you not to be mad even tho its frustrating (:

I recently had an accident with my watch and I had to get it laser welded and re-finished. However, your dent wouldn’t bother me because it’s on the side of the case and you wouldn’t see it. Mine was right on the lug at 11:00 and it looked bad. And the fact that it involves your son makes it acceptable in my opinion.

Personally I could live with it, but I´m completely "pain free" as regards the scratches and dings/dents my 14060 has collected over the years. Just keep an eye on the time keeping to make sure the movement hasn't been knocked out of kilter! Wear your Rolex and enjoy it as it was made to be in Geneva!

It’s not ideal, but that’s life. Nothing you can do about it so take the pain.

For me this wouldn’t be a problem to live with. I wear all of my watches and don’t obsess over the dings. That said, I respect the folks that work hard to keep their watches pristine.

The real question is how do you feel? Is this a wearer that is just acquiring “character” or is it a prized possession that needs to be perfect? No judgment either way from me...I’m just too clumsy to keep a watch perfect.

It's part of the journey. At least you'll remember why you have the dent.

Cheers

Absoutely not, given the source. You’ll stop noticing it. If you get it welded and fixed, it’ll happen again in some form or fashion.

It’s a memory I’d be ok with. Enjoy the watch and give it to him down the road.

Mine are for my son, at some point. A couple even have his name on the card.

Cheers.

It wouldn't worry me. any superficial damages on the case with scratches and dents can be polished out and even missing metal welded back in. Same thing with car restoration.

Would not bother me at all. Things like that are going to happen, no reason to loose sleep over it.

It’s not ideal and you’re always going to know it’s got the ding but if it’s a watch you’ll always have I wouldn’t stress these things happen in life.

Light scratches don’t bother me but metal chips? No no no. I would get it fixed.

I would continue wearing it and fix it during regular maintenance in 10-15 years. What I do not know if it would have to be laser welded.

I don't care if Jesus Christ himself came down and dented my watch. I would not like it at all and it would bother me and I would get it fixed. But the real question is...How do you feel about it?
