Same here. I’d worry much more about the movement than the case. Throw it on a timegrapher if available.

Would this dent bother you?

At first yes. I have noticeable dings on some of my watches and I am pretty much over it. I notice them, but it doesn’t bother me at all.

Do you guys think this is a bad hit? or something that you can live with it?
What do you guys think?
It looks charming! It's how you know it's yours :)

Small life hits that cause momentary irritation. Better a dropped watch than your head.

I wouldn’t see it on my wrist, so non issue. While checking the time, if i could see it’d then it would bother me.

Yes it would bother me. I’d probably look into laser wielding options.

If it bothers you, have it fixes. You don’t want to put it on everyday and have the first thing that you think of the damage...

Hopefully your son will own that watch one day, and then every time he puts it on and glances at that ding it will bring back his memories of you!

I would be slightly annoyed at first but such is life and these are watches that can, and should, take some dings. They were made as tool watches initially...

soft steel

i have steel tools and kitchen appliances that never get dented and I wouldnt care if they did.

but why is it that steel watches, the only steel objects i care about if they get dented or scratched soft like butter?

is watch steel softer than tool steel or kitchen appliance steel?

All of these minor dents, chipped crystals etc can be remedied. It’s all doable eg RolliWorks and others.

I always tried my best to make my timepieces pristine as possible but you know things happen and you just gonna live with it. Its a good story to tell him in the future. Otherwise laser welding is the way to go. Cheers.
