Default Subsciptions to Threads
Hi again,
Where can I subscribe to a thread I haven't posted to? And where can I set as a default, that I will be subscribed to all threads that I either posts to or create? I'm sure it's there, somewhere. Thanks! David |

There is an option to automically subscribe to threads.
You need to click on your private messages in the top right hand corner of the screen. This will take you to your messages page. Along the left hand side you will see a control panel. Click on "Edit Options". Then you will see under "Messaging & Notification" you will see "Default Thread Subscription Mode". From there you can select the option you prefer. |

As an adjunct to this topic, I'm a member of another forum that uses this very same software (V3.5.1) and... the automatic subscription works differently than it does here. Better, frankly. I can check in any time, even days or weeks later and by clicking on User CP, I can see all the subscribed threads that have been updated in the highlighted list. It works 100% of the time.
Here, on this forum, it doesn't seem to work so well. There can be additional posting to a subscribed thread and it won't show up at all. It seems to reset sporadically, or be inconsistent in some way. Generally, it seems to work OK in the context of one session but... if you stay logged on for more than 24 hrs or check back in at some later date, not all updated threads will show in the list as changed. Sometimes a partial list, sometimes none. Checking the actual threads, new posts are indeed there, the list doesn't always reflect it. Inconsistent... Anyone else notice this?
