It works, its free, it doesn't have vertical side banners or pop-up banners in your face.
It can be used with tapatalk if you want to seamlessly upload photos, but you can otherwise use a third party photo hosting site to embed photos.
However, we do have to impose size limits on photographs for practical and sound reasons if you want to upload them to be hosted on TRF and to that extent the size limit per photograph is 1250pixels wide and 180kb in physical size.

As for the search function, it does work well when you use advanced search and ensure that you have flushed out your cache/temp files.

New software will not be 'better' unless you want a more complex difficult to navigate site with pop-ups and advertising banners in your face with slower load times.
