Feedback for a Tudor Submariner.

Hi folks, I'm wondering if some members here can give some feedback of a Tudor Submariner I'm considering purchasing.
This is my first post on this forum so be gentle ;) I've spend a lot of time on other well known watch forums and a local one aswell but have only been lurking here in the past few weeks. I've owned two previous vintage watches in the past (1 Tudor oysterdate, and 1 Omega Constilation) but still find the vintage relm a minefield.
The watch in question is a Tudor Submariner 76100. From what my very novice eyes can see it looks decent however I'm unsure about the engraving arrangement on the caseback.
Can anyone with a bot of experience help a brother out?
(Hopefully the pictures are added correctly.)s-l1600.jpg

Much appreciated!

At a 1st. glance caseback engravings looks legit.

Despite poor pic, dial and insert look ok.

Please ask seller for engravings between lugs and allow yourself some time for the real Tudor experts to chime in.

Edit - Insert might be a later "service"?

Thank you kindly. Good advice about the serial and reference number between the lugs!

The caseback is service one.

The original one had larger text and much closer to the outside of caseback.

Nice patina on dial and H/s. Btw the original 76100 had a distinctive style T - SWISS - T just below the 6 triangle.

Ps - So called non-lollipop (or mercedes) were fitted from day one of launch occasionally too btw... to bust an old myth :-)

As the others have said; service case back and insert, I'd say.

Case looks pretty fat with some polishing. Any movement pics?

Looks in very good condition and the patina is lovely. I don't know... does it look a bit too good? Potential re-lume dial and hands?

Caveat; I am a 9411 not a 76100 man.

I've asked for pics of the case between the lugs, inside of the caseback, and movement buy hasn't hear back yet. It's on Chrono24 in my home country so I'm hoping for a response soon.

The seller states the reference number and serial match and says the are bold and pronounced but hasn't provided pictures to support. Seller has also said the caseback is "on too tight" to show pics of the movement. Should I walk away from this?

I'd think a watchmaker would be able to help him. Is he a dealer or private individual?

"Caseback on too tight" is a red flag, in my opinion. Pics of the serial should be simple. It's a high value item; most people will want to see/check the movement is correct, so he'd be doing himself a favour by getting some help in getting that off.

I suspect the ETA might be ok (or worst case a later version) they are cheap I bought one for £845 last month.

However, seller not immediately showing north and south lug engravings though is a not good/positive sign (as mid-case is 35% of 76100 value @ circa £1700 -1900), as it is so, so easy to remove the end links and display...the service case back is no super-biggie (as no date stamped inside on 84/85 76100)..... but when one thing is off...

I have found sometimes the adage 'no smoke without fire ' is apt.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and help. Seller doesn't seem interested in helping a potential buyer get some pictures to identify the watch properly. Ive contacted them twice on chrono and ince on thier website and It seems this seller is not looking to answer questions or provide proper info on the watch. Maybe it's legit and a good buy but I'm just not experienced enough at this point to not have the info suggested by people in this thread.
I'm walking away from this one.

Unfortunately I too have encountered many (stupid) "pro" sellers uncooperative.

Their loss!

I looked for a decent 5513 WGS for a couple of months and ended up bumping into a stunning Tudor snowflake, just by chance.

Keep on looking, you'll find the right one eventually. Don't rush!
