Wow, the big 3 o'clock subdial with cut off numbers and date window is a mess.

Okay, here you go. Breguet fixed the Daytona

I liked the 3817 a lot. Noticed Breguet removed it from their website along with every other XXI XXII. Clearly they are fixing those watches too.

If there must be date….

Why not at the 6:00 position? For you that understand watchmaking, is it possible for them to utilize this caliber with a 6:00 date as in the previous type XXI? I’m now holding out hope Breguet will redeem itself through subsequent models. Hopefully the next type XXI.

Well… I take back what I said. After watching several videos and much reading I’ve changed my mind. Not sure which version I would choose. There are things I like and dislike of each model. The $18,000 USD is probably in line for a Breguet chrono. But it’s more than I would be willing to pay. It will be interesting to see what price these watches settle into.

I own a 1962 type XX which my dad bought brand new. This watch is largely responsible for my interest in watches. I have been waiting for this watch for years. I tried them both on during the London Concourse last week.

I will go against the grain and say that i like them both. In person, the date window does not really stand out and I really don't mind it.

The numerals being cut are related to the original version of these 2 watches and make complete sense to me at least. Remember the original type XX was nicknamed 'big eye'.

I like the fact that the collectors of the future are often the watches that no one wanted when they were new.... Cue PN daytona...

I think one needs patience before judging too quickly.

I will try and post my own pictures later on.

I actually put the dropbox links in there but for some reason the links do not show up. Not sure why
