5541R up for auction.

Bet our friends in Geneva are OK with this. But wouldnt be OK if turned up on WatchBox or Chrono24. Curious on the back story with this one.

Sorry, got title wrong... 5531R.

Quite so. However the marketing manipulation by gaining free publicity auctioning off very rare limited pieces has a serious downside.

The Tiffany Nautilus auction put all Nautilus and look-a-like Aquanauts on the muggers “A” list and destroyed the stealth wealth of Pateks in one quick bound.

You can sell anything you want and don’t get blacklisted - there is no way Geneva could not find out who this piece belongs to. They make like 5-10 pieces a year of this ref?
