New here
I found this site after doing some research and there seems to be a wealth of information here.
I have been wanting to buy a Rolex for many years and I am finally in a position where I can justify the expense. I was driving by a Rolex dealer last week and decided to drop in and buy the Submariner Date I have always wanted. Some of you may be able to guess how that worked out. I was able to try one on but they didn't have one available to sell. I wish I did some research first and that's why i'm here now. Now I am on the waitlist for the Sub black, green, or Rolesor black/gold. I am a little concerned the Rolesor is a bit much for everyday wear and I may prefer something slightly more understated. I was offered a GMT II that was in stock and part of me wanted to get it but it just wasn't the Submariner I had my heart set on for most of my life. After touring the store and getting registered on the wait list I was given a gift bag with a Rolex magazine, hardcover catalog and coffee mug. It wasn't what I hoped to leave with but a smart move on their part because I am now pretty sure I need more than one Rolex. I just may go back and scoop up that GMT, too but if I don't get the Submariner first I may feel like I am giving up on a life goal and settling for something less than what I wanted. My current collection is a Samsung Galaxy watch and a Seiko Prospex Special Edition PADI Solar Blue Dial that I got because I am A PADI SCUBA instructor and I couldn't pass up a dive watch with the PADI logo on it. I look forward to the advice I receive here and I would like to hear some comments on my wish list. I still don't know what version I like the most but I suspect it will be the first one to come in. |

Welcome to the Forum. The Submariner Date is a great first watch. Might want to grab that GMT if it is still available.

It is best to wait for the one you like (sub). Let another customer pick up that gmt that really wanted/like it.
