In market for 116520 Daytona...

Anyone dealt with Collectors Coin and Jewelry? collectors1946.com.

Seem to be fair prices? Any feedback?

*Excuse me if this is the wrong forum for this question*

I wouldn’t go there…

Looks like a pawn shop or worse, not like watch dealer and definitely not like a watch expert.

I wouldn’t event consider it regardless of price!

Be cautious. Caveat emptor. You don't know if this seller has due diligence with their goods.

Example: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=905602

Not sure how anyone can possibly put that item for sale in that condition (??) For my expected standard as a customer of a high-end watch, that is simply not a saleable good.

Also: Anecdotally, there is a member on this forum who had a stolen/lost watch that was listed by this seller. So you simply don't know where and how they sourced that watch.

For a 20k+ watch, this is a lot of risk to take.

I don't have any experience with them, but then again, I would never buy a Rolex from a grey market dealer.

That being said, 879 of the 1,192 watches they have for sale are from Rolex, so it would appear that they are not a fly-by-night operation.

In the end, all grey dealers are "pawn shops", and each person has to decide if that is really the best place to buy a luxury item.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

I’ve actually been in one of their locations and yes, it’s basically a pawn shop but the whole place is set up nicely, like a nice jewelery shop. They were pretty hard edged, not overly friendly but not rude or anything.

I never bought anything, but everything there seemed good to go. My visit there was maybe 4+ years ago btw.

All that said, I’d just buy the Daytona from a trusted seller here on TRF.

Not to be trusted, as pointed above USPS mail stolen watch listed for sale by them; when evidence was given to them they send it back to their supplier to get their money back.

If I were looking for a discontinued model, I would try my best to find one being offered by the original owner. I'm actually in the process of doing this right now.

There are, of course, certain vintage models that would probably be almost impossible to acquire from the original owner, but I'm really only interested in more recent models.

But yes, you are correct in pointing out that one can't necessarily get everything from an AD.

Nonsense. The OP asked if anyone has dealt with them and the only sensible response was to “proceed with caution”, which should be done anyways.

Telling the OP you’d never buy anything from a grey dealer doesn’t help at all since he asked about a discontinued model. But cool story and good for you. I’m waiting for you to chime back in and tell us about your collection unwarranted.

I bought a Hulk from them in 2021 and everything was fine.

I have dealt with them in the past and had a good experience. I traded (2) watches for a TT Daytona 16523. Communication was constant and shipping was fast.

I wouldn’t do business with them again

Purchased a “unworn” ceramic Daytona that came with 11 links
