Buying 'Extra' Straps Before Receiving A Timepiece

So you're on a waiting list for a special timepiece or got THE call but can't retrieve it for a few days. Am curious who here has bought 'extra' straps / bracelets for a timepiece before receiving it?

Am I the only one? Is it just me?

Please, validate my bad habits

Not just you... I have done this on multiple occasions. Can't help it -- you just get excited, right.

I do this all the time. Sometimes I think a strap will go out of stock or get discontinued so I go ahead and "stock up". Changing up the feel of a watch with a different strap is lots of fun.

Me too! Or straps to 'aspirational' timepieces such as hoping to get a M.A.D.1 Blue at some point and already have the Red/aftermarket band. So yeah, there are extra, extra straps and buckles here too.

(Whispered) See, i wasn't going to mention that detail.

I bought an $1,800 bracelet for my JLC before owning the watch. Now as it turns out it got severely delayed and to this day I don't have that bracelet but it was supposed to arrive originally before I owned the watch.

Allegedly coming end of June 7 months later ayayay

Happen everytime, non only for "special" timepieces. I bought a couple of straps for my Garmin before receiving it, for example.
