Love that Patek, but not that much. It’s not that versatile to move 3 killer pieces for. I wouldn’t do it. Would only be worth it for something deadly like a solid gold bracelet nautilus with complication

I would, simply because Rolex sport models don't do for me. That 5212 is lovely on the other hand.

Absolutely YES.
Those Rolexes, although hot, can be found easily on the secondary market. How many steel Calatrava have you seen on a wrist? Patek is on a complete different level, this watch will be a hit for sure. I couldn’t get an AD to have my name on their waiting list. So if you can, go for it, no hesitation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’d never do that. I’d reverse that .. yes, I’d gladly trade any callatrwva for those two pieces.

Probably not for the 5212a, but me personally would consider selling both to buy a similar condition 5167a
Figure MSRP are equal, so if you are playing with house money (really not an economically sound way to approach - but it's still fun) |

I would do—i found the new technologies/patents in the 5212 movement are quite interesting and the strap looks fabulous. To me it could serve sporty and dressy. Not sure my AD could get one for me though...

Well TS did say in a latest interview that the new calatrava will be limited supply so this might be a good watch to get. Should have a reasonable resale value when compared to PM calatrava's, but it really is a nice watch that i feel needs to be seen in person, photos dont do it justice.

I personally would not do this. If I were you, I would add a simple PM Calatrava instead.

Sounds like you're ready for a Patek! Great time to capitalize on the hype and get Patek funds $$$

I’d be shocked if this watch can be bought from AD as new customer before 2025.

Has your AD guaranteed you the 5212A? I wouldnt sell those pieces until the watch arrives and you receive a call to come pickup. If you have not bought a Patek from them before this may be very difficult to get as a newbie to the brand

I'd keep the one you like most, and sell one for the patek plus cash. If you can't get the steel calatrava, an aquanaut 5167a is a great choice. For something more classic, a 5196g.
