Gmt blnr
Hi Guys, I was offered a Batman today but it doesn’t have papers or box , will it be hard to verify it’s a true BLNR and not a converted gmt LN ?

Don’t know how to verify. There was a thread here where someone bought an 16610LV that was actually a converted LN... I think it would not be worthwhile to try to convert a GMT LN to a BLNR and try to sell as the margin is much tighter I think than a 5 digit LV... Different bezel, different 24hr hand, different dial, plus install. But it can be done I guess. —> Not saying it’s right (Quite the opposite... Bad vibes to try and pull something like that).
At the end of the day, buy the seller... If you don’t trust him / her, you can always source from one of the many trusted sellers here with papers or from an AD. |

You have to send it to RSC to verify it, if you don’t trust the seller.

Does Rolex has the equivalent of Omega’s extract of the archives? I am sure they have all of this databased where plugging in the serial number will get you a response ...after all these years I don’t get how no one has a contact at Rolex that could access this (or at least I think it would be easy enough)

To turn an LN into a Blnr doesn't sound cost effective, you'd have to change the dial as well as the 24hr. hand.

Buy the seller. I’d pass personally.

Well I've bought a lot of watches from the seller so I do trust him and he originally sold the watch to the person trading it in...The reason I ask is beacause let's say I buy the watch and ten years down the line I want to resell ,maybe I'll have a problem trying to sell it without a warranty card stating it to be a Blnr Gmt.

I’ve been reading these forums since well before the BLNR was released and to my knowledge, converting LNs to BLNRs is not a thing. As said, you’d need dial, 24hr hand, and bezel assembly. Rolex is very stingy these days with spare parts, especially for bezels. If all parts of the watch you’re looking at are genuine, it’s almost certainly a BLNR.

Agreed, sounds like too much of a hassle with no upside to boot for a seller.. but no box and papers, I would absolutely get it checked out by somebody you trust before handing over the loot. Good Luck!

That is a complex set of steps for a 2,000 mark up ...and I believe getting a replacement black-blue cerachrome bezel - if you can get one in the first place - would soak most of that. So, a conversion LN to BLNR is not the thing you need to worry about. While not impossible, it is quite improbable. You need to ask yourself though whether the watch is real. If you don’t trust the seller enough (to the extent you wonder if he’s converted a LN to a BLNR), then your main worry should be if the darn thing is legit in the first place. Buy the seller. |

Will it eventually be done, probably. Has it been done? I seriously doubt it is a thing or an issue. It would not be cost effective at all. Dial, gmt hand, bezel.. yikes.

I would pass and get a complete set. The prices will still be close and for the money why have any doubts.

A Batman which is relatively new or recent release w/o cards or boxes will be suspect to me. Could be stolen or worst fake.
Being a converted watch is the least of the problem. Just my 2c. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it'd be too much trouble to change out the bezel and green hand for blue hand.
If that was a concern for you, i'd be more concerned about the authenticity of those parts, as well as who did the work. Overall it sounds like a pass to me, but if you trust the seller (sounds like you don't) and the price is right, I'd consider it. |

I would wait for box and papers example. Spending that kind of money you want to be comfortable about your purchase.
